Ideally, the Electronic Bank Statement file received from the bank will be processed and all its items will be posted. However, this automation is not always 100%, since a posting rule has to be found for each item and this might not be the case. For instance, the bank could send unforeseen transaction codes from time to time.
Additionally, although the automated EBS process may find and apply a posting rule, it might not be the right one under certain unexpected circumstances.
Consequently, we need a post-processing transaction so that we can check the items received, post them, see the posted documents, and reverse them if necessary. For this matter we have the FEBAN or FEBA_BANK_STATEMENT transaction.
